Deadlines for Plastic EPR Compliances
The Plastic Waste Management Rules are very dynamic. Even though they were notified in 2016, there are seven amendments to them to date. As per these amendments, there are different deadlines which need to be followed and they can be categorized into the following major types:
- Deadline for Registration:
a. For PIBOs: 4th May was the deadline. The CPCB had communicated that to individual PIBOs through written correspondence. A copy of the correspondence can be found on our website at this here
b. For PWPs: no such deadline is there yet. All the earlier deadlines have lapsed.
2. Deadline for Annual Returns: As per the 7th Amendment to PWM rules, the deadlines are
a. For PIBOs: 31st October 2023
b. For PWPs: 31st July 2023
3. Deadline for securing EPR Credits:
a. The deadline is 30th June as per CPCB notification.
4. Deadline for continuing supplies of raw materials:
a. The deadline is 31st May as per CPCB notification.
