Importers who import electronic equipment may face challenges in clearing their shipments. If the electronic equipments present in the shipment fall under the Scheduled Items mentioned in the E Waste Management Rules, then the shipments can be released on the basis of simple declaration. The format of this declaration is given by the CPCB in the following notice.

However the notice also demands that the producer must submit the application and obtain the certificate of registration before 30th June if the shipments are to be released and Business as Usual needs to be continued.
